Next step - multiple registrations
March 01, 2009, 10:43:18 am
Thank you for all the work on the multiple registrations. This is a really useful feature. The next step that would be ideal would be for people to have a drop down box of people they have rights over to select from in which case the profile fields would be pre-filled.

I suspect that people would want to be able to enter someone that is not in the checkbox also - in which case they could fill in the blank form. If the person didn't exist they would be created at this point. A further question is that if a new contact were created by being registered for an event should the person who created them automatically have rights over them. Thinking about the common situation of a mother enrolling a kid (or a secretary enrolling his boss) this might be the way in which that contact gets created.

I haven't checked this but does register multiple participants allow the registration of a related participant (e.g. a child) without an acutal registration for the primary participant?

Finally, if a person is enrolled (by someone else) and they do exist and have an e-mail do they get an e-mail enrolment advising who enrolled them and perhaps even giving the option to click and allow the person to have rights.

Sorry these thoughts are a bit middled. Toddler is trying to tip water on baby

No it doesn't ...

I've added bullet points to the 2.3 roadmap referencing these points. Not sure how much event stuff will be able to get done in 2.3 given the usability focus - but the items are there as a reminder. As usual, if you have resources to work on them / contribute code - that will help ensure they get done.

Thanks Dave. I suspect the ability to register someone else without registering yourself will be the most important
