What do you recommend for training our small staff and ourselves on the operation and extensive features of CiviCRM?

It is a bit unclear to me if you are asking for training on an existing install, or if you are wanting civicrm demo'd to your team so they know what it is capable of?

If the latter, several of the consultants listed under Professional Services could do this. I know we do. We would need to know your intended usage so we can ensure our demo is configured appropriately, and then take you through a live demo using WebHuddle and/or Skype.

If your questions was more about 'how do you train people' because you want to impart your knowledge to them, then I am less sure how to answer.

I would approach it like this:

(1) Make a list of everything you want to do.
(2) Start with the general screencasts in the documentation.
(3) Check the documentation and forums for each specific thing you want to do.
(4) Post your specific questions that remain unanswered to the forums.
(5) Work through your whole list that way.
