Does anybody have a list of the directories/files and what their permissions are supposed to be?

The only way I could install this was by using the step-by-step manual install instructions posted on the joomla forums, but that indicated that all permissions had to be set up to 777, but there was no indication of what they should be set back to....???

I've checked it on my local install, but the permissions there seem...well...permissive ;-) ...and don't correlate to what my live site is...

In joomla, the webserver needs read/write permissions on 'media'

It also needs read access on all the files under components and administrator/components

depending on what user your webserver runs under the permissions can be different
