strange things in 1.8

after upgrading 1.7 -> 1.8 everything seemed smooth.

but now these strange HTML chars show up on the 'Administer CiviCRM' page.

(see attached image)

wonder what's causing that?

Not sure if I can be of much help here, but the 1.8 administration interface should not look like it did in 1.7 in Drupal -- unless there is a setting where you can revert it that I'm not aware of.... Is it something with your resource URL settings or a cache? Something in your settings file? Sorry I can't be of more help, but I've attached what the 1.8 interface should look like.

Lobo helped me solve this one.

it has to do with the template cache being present from the previous 1.7 installation.

in drupal its:

/files/civicrm/templates_c

I needed to delete all of the folders there and all of the pages showed up as they should.
