Email to members stopped working after upgrade to 2.1.6

Email to contacts after finding members is no longer working.  PHP fails:

And there is in fact no such file in that directory....

Also, the php memory limit need to double.  I had it set to 24M and the script ran out of memory below 48M.

Is this a bug?

can you try and reproduce this issue on our joomla demo (http://joomla.demo.civicrm.org/). This is running 2.2, but if you can reproduce please file an issue

also what happens if u change your editor to fckeditor and/or no wysiwyg editor

I did not get the "blank screen" that accompanies the failure on the 2.2 demo.  So hopefully this will be fixed in 2.2

Switching to FCKEditor I was to send an email to myself from my install.

Sending to our membership (111 text emails) still required the php memory limit to be raised above 50M - that seems really high!
