Advanced settings not showing
March 05, 2009, 03:37:43 pm
The advanced settings area on the profile creation/edit page is not showing. It doesn't matter if I use one of Drupal's standard themes or the customized one, it doesn't show.

How do I get it back?

I installed it. How do I check to see if it is a java error? All the other sites I open in the browser show the area fine. It's just this one site that is acting up.

I found the problem. Here's the solution in case anyone else runs into this.

In the civicrm settings file, the domain was listed with the www. But somehow under "Update Directory Path and URL" it was listed without the www. I added the www and the advanced settings area shows again.

I got the same error.  It was very frustrating as I had no clue the advanced tab existed.

Anyway, you have to make sure that your current URL also points to either "www" or not.  If your URL path setting has the "www" you have that specific sub domain (or not) in your brower's URL.

We found the same issue to be caused by the acquia-marina theme in Drupal.  For some reason when we had that theme enabled the Advanced Settings form had display:none inserted into the inline styles.  I'm not sure is this wasn't just something the Drupal developer did (not part of our team) but I do know turning Acauia marina off fixed the issue.  Since the theme was really a sub-theme of Acquia Marina the way we got around it was to use the sections, http://drupal.org/project/sections, module to render any page with civicrm/admin in the url with the Garland theme.

This was as 3.1.6 install (PHP 5.2, MYSQL 5.0, Apache 2.2)
