Unique / Standalone Contribution Pages
March 09, 2009, 12:21:35 pm
I've searched the forums to find a way to create a template for contribution pages or -- better yet -- enable standalone contribution pages as you can do for forms.

Someone asked "why" someone would need that on another post so I'll explain why.

To be able to use effectively use CiviContribute with keyword or or e-mail marketing, you need to be able to strictly control all elements on the landing page (the actual contribution page works best).

Links to other sections of the site or, basically, any distractions will hurt your conversion ratio.

I've created a work around by using the Drupal template module for CiviCRM.  That helps but standalone capability would be best.

I GREATLY appreciate any advice you could offer.

you can customize the "civicrm" part of the page using CiviCRM's customized template features

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Customize+Built-in,+Profile,+Contribution+and+Event+Registration+Screens

You'll probably still need the drupal template module to control the elements around that page. A contribution is a series of 3 pages (plus 1 email), so one standalone page will not work. Plus the page needs to be dynamic to account for errors etc

Thanks for the quick reply.

I've seen that section before but used the Civi Theme module instead.

Essentially, you're suggesting I suppress all of the boxes that surround Civi when using a custom template.  I'll give it a shot.

Thanks!
