Problem matching against Org Name due to fullstop

Hi - my import had a load of companies, name of which ended in Inc. - with a full stop. The import seems to have imported these fine.

When I then import membership using Org Name as my matching field, it failed on lots because it didn't match exactly  :(

eg No matching Contact found for (OrgA, Inc ) - since the Org A name that was imported was (OrgA, Inc.)
