Inherited memberships eg Employees who are in an Org that is a member
March 10, 2009, 01:23:26 pm
Hi - the 'inherited' membership that can be done via Relationships is brilliant. Thanks

Guess I am beginning to see some areas where we need to be able to filter those who have the 'original' membership and those who have 'inherited' it.

Particularly in the "Find Members' area.

Simple step would be to enable that search to be filtered by Contact Type, ie Indiv v Household v Org. That won't cover all issues but it will quickly cover some of the majon ones.

Other would be to include a Col in the search results (in Find Member) that indicates if the Membership is 'inherited' - so this could be seen and sorted by.

Third area is on the Individuals Membership tab - so that at first glance one can see if the Membership showing is Inherited or not.

It will make a big difference to how one approaches chasing up renewals ;-)

you might want to also add these thoughts here:

I suspect we'll target improvements to CiviMember after the 2.3 release. As always if important to your current needs, consider making a code contribution :)

Noted. I think everything we need can be stepped around by working through Advanced Search - but .... we'll see what the client wants ;-)
