Exporting Contribution Amounts
March 13, 2009, 02:20:48 am
Hi there,

I was wondering if it's possible to export contribution amounts based on filtering by tag/group. From what I've seen on the forums, and attempted to do on CCRM, it looks like a direct filter is not possible.

I saw someone had used the IM field to mark a contact record so it could be filtered (in CiviContribute) - but I was hoping there was a work around which would allow me to find out how much had been contributed without having to perform a batch update on a contacts search.

We're running CiviCRM 2.1, and we use the tags to determine the donor's interests - for example, Mountain Biking, Walking, Botanist etc... And it would be really helpful to be able to find out how much has been donated by the Mountain Bikers.

I've looked at customising the 'Contribution Aggregate' search, but I'm not quite sure how it would be done. Any help would be much appreciated.

your best bet would be to write (and share with the community) a custom search for your needs. Custom searches are documented here: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Custom+Search+Components

if custom searches are a mystery to you, consider hiring someone from http://civicrm.org/professional/

thanx

Thanks Lobo. I wasn't sure if I was missing something, or not.

I will have a go at the custom reports and let you know how I get on! It may take a while  :)

Great documentation on the wiki - thanks.

Here's my best (newbie) effort:

I'm working on Contributions by Group, but this is proving a bit more tricky. I probably be back for help :-\
