Exporting from the front and and data display issue
March 13, 2009, 06:41:47 am
Hi,

I have a couple of issues with CiviCRM and was wondering if anyone could help.

1. Setting up a profile for the front end I want to display home phone and mobile. When I try and add the mobile I am told that the field already exists in the profile.

2. When displaying is it possible to show certain columns on the list from the front end search and all the details when you click on the view.

3. and finally is it possible to have the same functionality when searching from the front end as in the back end such as being able to export the list.

Many thanks in advance.

Damian

1) Sure you're doing this right? When adding the phone field to a profile, you select phone > address type > subcategory (phone, fax, mobile, etc.). I've never had a problem with this.

2) When adding a field to a profile, you have several options for how the field is used and where it's visible. Selecting the "selector" checkbox means the field displays in the search results table. Leaving that unchecked means it doesn't show in the result list, but does display in detail view.

3) No. There's currently no built-in export capability from the frontend.

Item 1 is a recently fixed bug:
http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-4219

You can see the diff here:
http://fisheye.civicrm.org/viewrep/CiviCRM/branches/v2.1/CRM/Core/BAO/UFField.php?r1=19144&r2=20252

I think this will be included in the next 2.1 release and I'm pretty sure the fix is also included in 2.2.0
