Upload component - Failed DB function failed with error number 1062
July 24, 2007, 12:09:07 am
Can't install CiviCRM 1.7.10272 stable nor 1.8.alpha.10427 with Joomla! 1.0.12 on a 1and1 VPS 1 Linux/Apache/2.0.54 server using MySQL 4.1.20 and PHP 5.0.4

Keep getting "Upload component - Failed" error:

DB function failed with error number 1062
Duplicate entry '0' for key 1 SQL=INSERT INTO jos_components ( `name`,`link`,`menuid`,`parent`,`admin_menu_link`,`admin_menu_alt`,`option`,`ordering`,`admin_menu_img`,`iscore` ) VALUES ( 'CiviCRM Home','','0','0','option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/dashboard&reset=1','CiviCRM Home','com_civicrm','0','js/ThemeOffice/component.png','0' )
SQL =

INSERT INTO jos_components ( `name`,`link`,`menuid`,`parent`,`admin_menu_link`,`admin_menu_alt`,`option`,`ordering`,`admin_menu_img`,`iscore` ) VALUES ( 'CiviCRM Home','','0','0','option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/dashboard&reset=1','CiviCRM Home','com_civicrm','0','js/ThemeOffice/component.png','0' )

I was able to install and run CiviCRM 1.8.alpha.10256 before on the same website, but uninstalled it due to a CiviContribute bug. Only thing different now is our Minted One-Point-Five v2.0 Joomla! administrator template which contains the above js/ThemeOffice/component.png. But still get same error when switch back to the original admin template!

Both the below DB statements are outside the civicrm installer and in the joomla framework.

I dont understand enough about joomla to know the exact issue, but seem like it might be a foreign key inconsistency in your joomla menuing system when the installer is trying to add a civicrm menu.

You might want to try to redo the civicrm install on a vanilla joomla install and see if that works

Thanks for the suggestion Lobo. Unfortunately redoing the CiviCRM install on a vanilla Joomla install is not an option for this particular site. I got same error with the new 1.8 Beta so I posted this in the bug tracker:
http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-2134

I'm hoping you or someone else can come up with another solution for this. Maybe changing something in the DB?

BTW, CiviCRM appears on my Joomla Components list after this failed install, but no tables are created in the DB.

You were totally right Lobo. I did a new CiviCRM 1.8 Beta install on a fresh Joomla install and it worked. Sorry for posting this in the bug tracker  :-[
