add expanding options to Drupal Administration Menu module
March 17, 2009, 10:55:49 pm
I like the CiviCRM integration into the Drupal "Administration Menu" module as discussed on this post http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,3622.0.html

In going what is perhaps a step further... I'd like to see the CiviCRM menu item (within the Administration Menu) become expandable like many of the other menu items in the Administration Menu. For example, when I hover my mouse over the "Civi Contribute" menu item, I'd like to see a sub-menu pop up with links to "Find Contributions", "Import Contributions", "Manage Contribution Pages", and "Personal Campaign Pages" (as they are listed in the standard CiviCRM menu).

If anyone knows of a way to do this, I'd greatly appreciate hearing. Thanks!

The latest version of CiviCRM has this support. You might need to rebuild your admin menu cache

If you are on 2.2 and you're not seeing the sub-menus, go to <your-site>/admin/settings/admin_menu

Click on "wipe and rebuild" as lobo suggests. that should work.
hope this help

Thanks for the help!
I rebuilt the admin_menu cache and it didn't get the sub-menus to show up, but...

Here is how I SOLVED my issue (getting the sub-menus to expand):
While on the CiviContribute page ( /civicrm/contribute ) used the admin_menu to choose "Flush all caches" > "Menu".
The above step made the sub-menu show up for CiviContribute only (seems very strange, but whatever!).
Then I visited all the other necessary pages; and while on each page, I did same cache clearing step.
One sub-menu at a time, I got them all to show up.

I'm using Civi 2.2.0
