Google gears integration
March 18, 2009, 07:47:32 am
Hi,

One of the current limitation as seen by my laptoped clients is that it doesn't work when not online. I'm using gmail with the offline mode, that's good enough.

It'd be great to have the option to store the contacts (at least the searched/displayed ones) on the clients, and be able to retrieve the local information when not connected, and being able to add activities on it.

(a google summer code project if one student wake up and sign in) ?

Would this cope with multiple users? Or are you thinking of scenarios where only one admin is using, and sets the system to 'online' or 'offline'.
My experience with Google Gears would suggest many problems if using multiple users.

Hi,

No idea, that's more for civicrm 3.n

I would suspect that if it's only read and add (eg new activity) it shouldn't be an issue.
