[SOLVED] Error during install: Class 'PEAR_Error' not found

Hi,

I first installed civicrm on my laptop with Vista and XAMPP.

Next, I tried installing it on a Linux host at www.1and1.com but ran into this error message during the install.php:

I am now running through the installation steps (this should take a few minutes)

If you receive a fatal error, refresh this page to continue the installation

Building database schema and setup files...

Fatal error: Class 'PEAR_Error' not found in /homepages/19/****/htdocs/foundation/civicrm/packages/DB.php on line 946

Any help is appreciated.
