How to add fields to ask questions of registrants
March 18, 2009, 05:45:06 pm
Hi all.

I need to add a few fields to my registrations that have nothing to do with the price set and just require freeform answers: eg. special dietary concerns.

How can I do this?

Thanks,

Shrill

There are two ways - I like to add them into the price set anyway & give them $0 hidden costs associated with them. It gives a nice layout. the custom search for price sets is also nice in this context

Alternatively in administer civiCRM you can create custom data fields and then a custom profile & then assign it to the event/s

Interesting, thanks.

A follow up question as I am quite new to Civicrm. We will want to be able to somehow download a list of the participants with their info included (to a spreadsheet or something similar). Is this easily done? Is one option for the additional fields more effective for this use?

Thanks,

Shrill

You can search for the participants here http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/event/search?reset=1 and export them into a csv.
