Import difficulties
March 20, 2009, 01:09:58 pm
SO just had a long slog through an import that twice told me it had completed successfully but in both cases it had stopped well short of the end. Eg of the 500 rows, first time it only did 220 or so. WHich is fine, just meant i had to verify by searching for largest cid.

Couple of other things struck me that are more easily dealt with than the above aberrations.

At step 3 it will report back www.fuzion.co.nz as an invalid web address - which just requires adding http:// of course but wonder whether it can be set to accept www addresses - esp since in the Contact Edit form, it autoadds the http.

Second is why when it spots invaled web addresses in step 3 does it wait for step 4 to report back invalid email addresses?

Third, I got some errors report that the External Identifier already exists in database. I would have expected this to report as a duplicate. Not a big deal but I know an import clean up is on the cards so just flagging things as they trip me up.
