users see confirmation screen twice
July 24, 2007, 03:55:57 pm
We're experiencing a very annoying problem where some users are shown the confirmation screen, they click "Continue >>", and then see the confirmation screen again, even though the credit card has already been processed.  This has been the cause of many duplicate charges (people think they need to click "Continue >>" again, despite the warnings not to).  One subtle difference the second time 'round is that there is now a transaction ID on the confirmation screen.

We are using
CiviCRM 1.7.9682
Authorize.net AIM payment processor
php 4.4.4
mysql 5.0.32

Has anyone else experienced this?

One thing which we do in paypal is to generate a constant invoice id for each flow and reuse that invoice id (if pressed twice etc). PayPal will reject the transaction if there is a duplicate invoice id

not sure if authorize.net has the same feature, but that prevents duplicate charges :)

regarding the redisplay etc, I'll allow marshall to figure it out :)
