D 6.10 - Theme (acquia_slate) CiviCRM 2.2.0 (dark theme issues)
March 24, 2009, 10:10:58 pm
I'm using D6.10 with the Acquia Slate Theme with CiviCRM 2.2.0

and I'm having some CSS, mostly background issues.

things I've tried
- tried to use Drupals Admin Theme feature, CiviCRM - doesn't seem to notice an Admin Theme change
- Setting the CSS path in CiviCRM > Global Settings > Resource URL - this helped with 80% of issues
- Tried to over ride using my own CSS... I just can't seem to get the right area or its not noticing - using my themes local.css option

Please see attached for more detail

Two pieces of advice:

1. Check the Performance page in Drupal (admin/settings/performance) to see if CSS is cached--if so, then you won't see your changes unless you disable that (recommended for development) or clear the cache.

2. Get Firefox to Inspect the page to determine which CSS selectors to use.

You might want to install the civicrm_theme module - which allows you to specify a different theme for civicrm pages (and you can choose a different theme for CiviCRM admin vs. public (user facing) pages:

http://drupal.org/project/civicrm_theme

If that doesn't work - you can make a copy of the default civicrm.css file, modify it and then point to your customized version using the "Custom CiviCRM CSS URL" setting under Administer CiviCRM >> Global Settings >> Resource URLs

Firefox's Firebug extension is very helpful in determining specific CSS declarations you may want to change.
