Subscribe Confirmation Problem
March 26, 2009, 06:52:38 am
Hello all,

Upgraded from 2.1.6 to 2.2.1.  Everything seemed to work fine, but I have 2 problems.  The first one I'll post here.  I've actually found out what the problem is, I just don't know how to fix it.

When I use a subscribe form to add an e-mail address to group (using a public page). Everything works fine.  I get the confirmation e-mail, but when I click on the "confirm" link, it takes me to this URL and I get an "Oops" message:

http://www.frej.net/civicrm/mailing/confirm?reset=1&cid=9168&sid=22&h=9e01897f2e547f2b?phpMyAdmin=6a7c49cad912t61f3c179

I noticed that it has a "phpMyAdmin" string, which I thought was a little strange so I removed it to look like this:

http://www.frej.net/civicrm/mailing/confirm?reset=1&cid=9168&sid=22&h=9e01897f2e547f2b

And it worked!  What is adding this additional string?  Thanks very much for any suggestions.

-Jay

Jay,

Did you check if you don't have any additional strings appended in your Subscription Confirmation Request template (CiviMail -> Headers, Footers, and Automated Messages)?

Thx,
m

Michał,

Thanks for the quick reply!  That does seem to be the problem, however, when I updated the field and click on Save, it is not saving the changes. It's as if all of those messages are read-only.  I'm logged in with admin privileges.

Hey,

Are you getting any status message after hitting save?

Thx,

No, it just took me back to messages list with no error messages.  I just re-created the the three messages with URLs (subscribe, unsub, resub) and disabled the existing ones.  I know that's not really a solution, but it worked.  Unless you'd like me to troubleshoot more, I can consider this a resolution.

Thanks very much for your help.

Hmm - just tested changing and saving the Subscription Confirmation Request on my local install of 2.2.1 and the changes saved properly. Perhaps you can try and recreate what you're seeing on the public demo (not sure if it could be related to the specific content, whether you're using both TEXT and HTML fields, or ???).

Hey,

I already checked that on public demo and it worked fine with regular text. Jay - following Dave's suggestion, it would be great if you could try to use exact content that you are trying to save on your installation and try to do the same on http://demo.civicrm.org/

Also - you're not getting any error when (not) saving, but are you getting yellow status box with the message saying that everything went ok?

Thx,
m
