optOutUrl not working 2.2

When I click the optOutUrl in the email it takes me to the optOut page on the website but when I press the Optout button I'm transferred to the main page without any confirmation and nothing is recorded in civicrm.

When I reinstall 2.1 everything works ok. I have tried both 2.2.0 and 2.2.1 and they both produce the same error. Furthermore, between installations I have completely removed all civicrm related stuff, including all the tables in the database, to be sure to do a clean installation.

I have also noticed that any activity in civicrm results in a couple of 404 page not found errors in the web server log even though everything seems ok in civivrm.

Same issue for me.

Except that I have it working on one test computer - but no other computer I have tried can make it work?

Did anyone have any input on this issue? I am also running CiviCRM 2.2 and that opt out URL shows the confirmation page, I click it to opt out, and then find myself on the homepage. But, the requested opt out did not occur. The user is still in the mailing group.

Any thoughts on what could be wrong?

can u upgrade to 2.2.7 and see if it fixes the issue. I remember we might have fixed something like this for joomla installs
