CiviCRM wont place tokens on my emails so I can't send them

I'm trying to alert our employees that their accounts exist on CiviCRM. But the e-mail regards it as bulk and won't send it without an opt out and address. but it doesn't work. The program says place the cursor in the text body and click the desired token. Nothing happens.
Our domain is configured and address is correct there.
Also if I save the message to come back later... the text is lost.
Any ideas?

It sounds like you may be having problems with Javascript working properly on your site. Are you seeing an Javascript errors reported by the browser (Firefox puts a red exclamation point in the upper right hand corner).

Nope, not a java error.
I redid my group that I was mailing to- I had done it wrong so my selected group was null. Now My recipients are cool, and the tokens are appearing.  :)Maybe something interesting in case someone else runs into this problem.
