Hi,

Is it possible to send attachments with CiviContribute receipts?

You'll need to make some code changes to enable this. What would you want to send as an attachment?

was just wondering if I could send a paid for publication as attachment after receiving a contribution.

Simple ecommerce without going down ubercart or other route

unfortunately not. I'm thinking that a 'mail' hook would be a good addition to CiviCRM. if we have that, you should be able to add an attachment / modify any mail sent by CiviCRM. if you are interested in working on this patch contact us on IRC
