Is CiviSMTP working?

I am unable to send anything through CiviMail.  It says that it has send a test message, but nothing comes through.  When I check the settings using "Save & Test Email" button on the Setting - Outbound Mail page, I get this:

Error message:
authentication failure [SMTP: Authentication failed. (code: 221, response: civismtp.uas.coop closing connection. Have a wonderful day.)]
Your changes have been saved.

In our CiviSMTP account page, the test settings button produces an error like this:

I have double and triple checked that the SMTP passwords match.  I haven't changed anything for weeks, and it worked until today.  I also did a wget on the soap.php address to make sure it was still accessible, and it is.  Any suggestions? 

This is on Civi 2.1.1.

Hi,
I just tested the CiviSMTP account settings for one of our accounts and they tested fine, no errors. Maybe something was happening last night when you posted?
