Just wondering if in the usability discussions around civiEvent & civiMail screens an approach like this had been considered?

http://jqueryui.com/demos/accordion/#collapsible

It seems like a nice alternative to the current 5 pages of forms

Eileen - There has been some discussion about re-working the "wizard" interfaces. Tabs have been suggested - and this accordion "panes" interface seems like it could also be an option. I think we need someone to step up and do some mockups of alternative approaches for one of the wizard - and then float them by the community. (Some folks in the advisory group discussion were strongly FOR changing the wizard approach, while others were pretty strongly in favor of keeping it.)

I felt the key issue being raised by the pro-change that appealed to me was having a stage pre-step 1 where i could tick/check things like ' 'tell a friend' and 'pcp' 'premiums' etc so that those pages simply got skipped if you knew they weren't needed.

At the moment, while new options are being added, which is great, it means that every step has to be stepped through.

It isn't clear to me from the accordian if steps that weren't desired could simply be sidestepped
