Hello,

I'm the project manager for a project in the final stages of implementing CiviCRM in MN, USA. We extended the membership code to include membership benefits. That is, you can set membership benefits by membership type. There is an interface that lets you define  benefits and their attributes, then when you're in the specific Membership Type, you can select the benefits that are specific to that type. Example, an Individual Membership gets: Newsletter, 10% event discount, 10% Sales Discount and so on.

Before getting into too much more detail, I thought I'd see if there was any interest.

This was developed for CiviCRM 2.0, but is running currently on 2.2 (probably needs some updating).

My question is "Is there any desire to include this functionality in subsequent releases? If yes, what is the procedure for submitting the code?"

There is a desire to include this functionality either as part of core or as a module that integrates with CiviCRM.

Having a more detailed description will help us evaluate how/where it fits in etc and what we need to do to get it into core. You might want to read and agree with: http://civicrm.org/licensing before we get too far into this

I apologize for leaving you "hanging" on this... I've been out of the office and believe it or not, unconnected to the wired world.

I'll read the license agreement and if appropriate, put some effort into a more thorough description in the next couple of days.
