I have two questions:

1. Is there a way to send an email confirmation to an email address stored in a user profile field?

When a student creates his account, we will capture their youth leader's email address. I would like to email a copy of the event registration to the email address stored in the custom field.

2. Can I email a copy of the registrations to different addresses based on the "Participant Role"?

I would like to send "standard" registrations to one email and "counselor" registrations to another address.

You can do both the below by using the hook system and firing off an email when you process the hook.
