Seems like when an event has options

1) multiple registrants
2) pay later

The primary registrant gets the status of pay later but additional registrants get the status of Pending(incomplete transaction). I think they all should get pending-pay later status.

Also is there a way to send customized email when pay later option is selected something like your registration does not guarantee a spot until we get a payment etc.

can u file an issue for 1 and we'll fix it in a future 2.x release

You can customize the email template and add more explicit wording for pay later (in addition to pay later text which is included). The relevant template is:

templates/CRM/Event/Form/Registration/ReceiptMessage.tpl

p.s> if u log into IRC, please do keep your session with irc on for a long time, sicne we check it once in a while. Alternatively, you can do a "ping PERSON_NAME" to check if one of us is around. Just noticed that you appeared and disappeared pretty quickly :)

To emphasize lobo's point on this - the "Pay later instructions" which you configure for the event (Configure Event >> Event Fees) are automatically included in the email receipt for all pay later registrations. So you could certainly include that text in those instructions.
