Using CiviMail as main email software
April 07, 2009, 03:31:45 am
I'm interested in how are people generally using CiviMail.

Is anyone using it instead of their standard email client (e.g. Outlook)?

Where does Civimail excel or fall down in this regard?

Thanks in advance

CiviMail is not exactly used as email client but you can use it as tool if you want to send bulk email such as Newsletters , Subscribe-unsubscribe groups, Notifications etc..
CiviMail provides you a detail reports of each mailing sent and also Saved Mailings & Dreafts, Saved Templates.
It cant show you your inbox like you can view in Thunderbird or Outlook , but used for including-excluding members of multiple groups and mass mail sending.

yes, but it does not do a whole lot with the replies. This is configurable in the mailing settings: It either replies to the reply with a generic reply message or forwards the reply to an email address set in the mail setting screen
