Drupal permissions based on membership type and/or status
April 13, 2009, 01:40:53 pm
I am running CiviCRM 2.2.2 and Drupal 6.10.  I am wondering if there is a way to have Drupal user roles and permissions based on Civimember membership types and status.  For example, I want to display certain Drupal web site content based on a user's membership type. Or maybe I want to block content for member's whose membership status is delinquent and such.  Is there a way to sync CiviCRM membership types with roles in Drupal?  How about membership status.  Is there a way for a Drupal page view to know this? If so, how can I do this?  According to the Drupal site, the is now a feature of CiviCRM 2.1.2 and therefore no longer a Drupal module http://drupal.org/project/civimember_roles, but I can't find any info about it in the CiviCRM documentation that talks about it. Thank you for any help you can give me on this.

Have you had a look at what CiviMember Roles Sync   2.2 offers?   Synchronize CiviCRM Contacts with Membership Status to a specified Drupal Role both automatically and manually.

Thanks so much for the speedy response.  I am not new to Drupal, but I am new to CiviCRM and I was not aware that I needed to enable CivicGroup Roles Sync and CiviMember Roles Sync.  I just found and enabled them and I believe that will do exactly what I need.  Thanks again - Nancy
