confirming pay later status

When you go to

a contact's contribution page you see

status
If you have received payment for this Pending online contribution, record it using Update Pending Contribution Status from CiviContribute » Find Contributions. If you update the status from here the contributor may not got complete information on their receipt. Also, if there is an associated membership or event registration record - it's status will not be updated.

Confirming the payment here does seem to confirm the event but not to trigger the event confirmation e-mail (although a contribution receipt does get sent - it is probably not a full one as it doesn't have much info on it. See below.

It seems like a bit user-unfriendly not to be able to confirm a event payment from the contacts page

Thanks for your support.
Please print this receipt for your records.

Sorry - I lost my way a bit in that post. The thing that concerned me was the message implying you can't confirm an event contribution from a contact's contribution tab. I think the behaviout is correct & is the same as when you do it from the find contributions screen (although I did expect at least the event name to show up). I think it should be possible from the events tab also as it is really confusing to end users that you can confirm the event but the payment won't be confirmed:

Eileen - we discussed this today and there should be an issue filed shortly against 2.3 to allow confirmation of pending pay-later registrations from "either side".

Yes, thank you.

The customer we have been talking to has described his ideal as the person doing the multi-user registration can choose whether the invoice goes to them or to the individuals involved.

Ideal is to have sequential not-too-long invoice IDs (I think this has been discussed elsewhere).

He said that in another system he had seen the person doing the team registration had been able to choose how the $240 team registration fee was split up across those invoices..

Hi - I couldn't find the issue - was I meant to file it?

It's here:

http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-4395

You might want to jump in and make it a bit more explicit in terms of your expectations and flows that "need to work".
