Old Join Dates For Imported Records
April 14, 2009, 02:28:48 pm
We are having a hard time time importing member records with old join dates and keeping them correct after a member renews. It seems like the GUI is limited to 1989. We would like to import our history and our organization is over a hundred years old. Even many of our active members have join dates before 1989. Is it possible to import them and also be able to modify the status of members with dates before 1989 without an error when we press save? Maybe some override check like with status.

you can increase the limit
Got to :: CiviCRM->Adimin->Global Settings -> Date Format -> Advanced Date input Setting
Here Edit the activityDate and increase the Start Offset

e.g. 30 , it start from 1979

yes, you can modify membership record with your dates and to give own status need to check 'Status Override?' then select status.

IMO you might want to check import by giving 'is_override' = 1 in .csv file, which will skip status calculation and you can import membership record as per your dates and status.

You might want to take a look for Membership Status Rules.
