Different secure domain....
April 15, 2009, 08:51:49 am
I have a client that has a different secure domain from their main domain.  How do I set this up for so that I can use it on a contribution page.

www.[xxx].com - main site

when I go to do a view source on contribution page I see https:www.[xxx].com.

I do not have security forced in civicrm.

My secure domain is secure.[xxx].com

Thanks for the help.

In v2.2 and prior we dont support a different domain for secure access.

This has come up a couple of times in the past. If you can contribute a patch to make it happen (or hire someone to do so) that would be great and appreciated

Could you tell me why I am seeing https in the form?

Also, what steps would I need to take to make the entire site use secure.[xxx].com rather than www.[xxx].com.  Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure why u r seeing https on your pages. a couple of reasons:

1. you might have force secure urls enabled in your setting. double check

2. you might be using the secure pages drupal module

3. check your apache access log and follow the trail of redirects when u access a contrib page via a non-secure url

4. check:http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Moving+an+Existing+Installation+to+a+New+Server+or+Location

to move www.abc.com to https://secure.abc.com. the steps should be similar
