Contact ChangeLog - how do we show what got changed?

On each Contact's screen, there is a link to "View ChangeLog" at the bottom of the screen. We'd like to be able to see *what* was changed, as well as who changed it.

Obviously this would need to be restricted to some small subset of fields. Is this functionality available, or do we need to do something like add a note on each contact update detailing the changes?

This functionality is not available, but would be a great addition to the 2.x series. You could potentially automate it and do a diff at the db level before storing any record. However such generalized changes are not trivial and will require some amount of tweaking

anyone have any idea what level of support commercial systems offer regarding this feature? Is it standard?
