Author Topic: If user selects to pay, but doesn't, they still get added to database (Read 791 times)

Currently running CiviCRM 2.1. We have many international registrants who use our site, many unfamiliar with using the internet, etc etc. So somewhat commonly we find that people:

1) register for an event, and then select a Pay-Now option;
2) get sent to PayPal and don't pay immediately.

And a result, no record of their registration is created by CiviCRM.

Is there a (preferably simple) way to get CiviCRM to go ahead and make a registrant information inserted into the database at step 1? And if PayPal never returns anything from step 2, then we just know they have not paid and it gets marked accordingly?

a participant record is created in both cases with status pending (after step 2). that way you know which participants have not yet paid
