Common Feature Suggestions
April 21, 2009, 07:40:04 pm
I think several of these are common feature suggestions (I know I've heard them from clients more than once), but I thought I would make them again and see if there were any plans to implement these in upcoming releases.

1) The ability to edit the contribution date field for CC payments.  For accounting purposes, sometimes the date needs to be listed on another day other than today.  Tax reasons are a common driver for this.  E.g.  the donor gives you their CC info and a donation amount to process manually on December 30 and you don't get around to processing it until Jan 2.  Their donation is still something that should be listed in the previous calendar year... or the field should at least be editable.

2) Aggregate tax receipts for year end work.
3) Totals at the bottom of the "summary" screens in CiviCRM and contribution searches.  Case in point, the main contribution screen shows you the list of contributions in recent time, but doesn't total those up for you.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

As an open source project, we expect and hope that the consulting folks step up and implement some of the requests made by their clients. If you are too busy / not experienced with CiviCRM etc, you can sponsor a developer to get those features added and contributed to core

that said, 2.3 does not include items 1 and 2 below. item 3 is back in 2.2.x (it got dropped due to a bug that no one noticed)
