An organization would like to use CiviContribute and need it to respect the needs of an anonymous donor.
I believe this could be provided by adding a Custom Field set and hiding it (based on user role etc) when needed.
This custom set would hold the name of the donor.
When entering the donation they would enter in the Name field the given Anonymous Donor name.
For example.
Anonymous Donor 55 <--55 being the next civi id in the database. They would know this with a little notification windows that shows the next donor id. Then in the custom field they would put the real name.
This would prevent the numerous places where people would stumble upon the name during searches etc.
I was thinking that using permissions could be a solution as well or instead of.
1. civicrm perms
a. two levels of perms
a.1 see all (superstaff/admin)
a.2 see only those in group Staff Viewable

If civi contact is in Staff Viewable Group (1.a.2) then those staff members can see people in that group
If not in that group then only superadmin/staff can see them.

If you keep the donor out of this group they can not be seen. This could prevent a mistake of showing someone who should not be seen.
This would effect reports etc.
But it is better then hiding civicontribute since you want that task available to the groups who needs to do that for the 99% entries that are okay to see.

Any feed back would be appreciated.
I read the civicrm documentation and did numerous searches on this situation and did not find something. If there is a help item on this please feel free to point it out. If not I could add this when done.
