civimail from email adres V1.8
July 29, 2007, 05:07:09 pm
If I am correct, the default "From e-mail" in upload message is the e-mail adres of the user loged-in.
When I use this default email adres, mail2soap does not recognise this adres and all the opt-out, unsubscribe options fail.
So I have to use the e-mail adress I use for the soap IMAP server.

I think, normaly, this is the same adress used in the domain settings of civimail.
Why not make this e-mail adress the default for sending civimail mass email.

It is easyer to put your own e-mail adress in the box, users know them, than the e-mail adres from the soap civicrm mass mailer. This email adres is less known.

I’m not sure I follow. What’s the relevance of the From: address on sending emails and the receiving backend? All CiviMail-generated emails should have the proper Reply-To: headers set, and the replies should go there, not to the From: address.

Also, if your SMTP server is filtering out mailings based on the From: email (instead of the Return-Path:), then that’s not a usual setup… :|

We’ll need some more info about the exact problems you run in your setup to help (which element of which – sending or receiving – toolchain is causing problems and why).
If you found the above helpful, please consider helping us in return – you can even steer CiviCRM’s future and help us extend CiviCRM in ways useful to you.

Hello Piotr,

Today I made some time to test my issue for a good report.
And the result is that I cannot regenerate my issue...... ???

Civimail is working and sends his reply's to the correct email adres. :-[  ......  :)

After a few hours testing I only have a feature request, that is to make an option in civimail settings to make a choice in a default reply to email adress or the email adres of the user (both changeble when making a mail). I think that in most situations not the users email adres is used for sending the reply-to but an email adress like info@website.org.

Shall I make a feauter request for V2.0?

regards
Martin
