free form, user enterable event fee field??
April 23, 2009, 04:35:23 pm
hi,

we have many events with sliding scale event fees, and would like to have a simple field where users could enter an amount within a set range?

what would be the best way to make that happen??

thanks,
m

Use a price set & create a field with a value of $1 (hide the value) - & label it 'enter amount in $

hi Eileen,
Thanks for this. it works well.
One question, can you see a way to do a sliding scale from $0 - $N ?? The above method requires a min fee of $1.
thanks,
m

Not if it is an optional field

hi Eileen,
you replied that a $0 to $x sliding scale was not possible for an optional field.

would it be possible for a required field? how would that be done?
thanks,
m

No, that's the reverse of what I meant. A required field might have a minimum of $1 but if it is optional it can be left blank = $0
