Restricting access to other area of site, based on membership?
April 29, 2009, 07:21:55 am
I'd like to make a "membership" through CiviCRM *mandatory* as a method to become a "registered" user in Joomla.  Or, in other words, to log in to the system to see content for "registered users only" I need to assure that there is a valid (paid) membership in CiviCRM.

Simply put:  I need to have "members only" sections to the site.

This is a big deal for me as the laws in my state require access limitation to certain documents and records of our association to prevent general public disclosure (privacy protection).

Would someone please point me in the right direction?

Thank you!

We dont know the specifics of joomla and permissioning very well. Your best bet would be to hire someone from http://civicrm.org/professional/. Brian Shaugnessy (lcdweb) is on the forums and is quite joomla savvy

I am looking into the same functionality for my client.

Found this:  http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,3669.msg16246.html#msg16246

But would also consider working with you on getting this functionality implemented..
