Alumni User Portal
April 29, 2009, 02:19:32 pm
I'm using Drupal and CiviCRM to create an alumni user portal. I need users to register an account with default drupal registration fields as well as the year they graduated. I then need to use the year they provide to categorize them into a group of other individuals who graduated in the same year. All graduation years will individually fall underneath an umbrella group called "alumni". This will allow the client to shoot mass emails to either specific grad years OR  the entire alumni list.

I have already created the year field in the registration area. I have also created 2 groups (2008 and 2007) as children of a parent group (alumni), and imported .csv data into these groups. I need help with the following:

1. How do I use the year provided in the registration process to auto-assign the user to their proper group?
2. How do I display certain data (photo, email, name, graduation year) of these alumni members and arrange them according to their groups?

I feel like i'm very close, but just ran into a snag. Thanks in advance.
