CiviMail - how to configure Action Tokens?
April 29, 2009, 06:57:46 pm
using CivicRm 2.1/drupal 6.9
I can send test email

but it sends out Hex-a-gibberish for {action.optout}

but I have no idea where I configure 'action tokens'

the mysql Dbase Domain_table doesn't seem to have any field for action tokens

1. thanks ...

2. The test email was delivered with the following address in the "action Opt out" field:
"o.1.6.14.a6b18ab24855d3cf@dh.com"

2 Also I found below thread from a couple months ago that sort of answers my question...the action.optouturl token works.

3 Not sure how to set a return path as suggested

This works exactly as designed – the action.optOut token gets replaced with an email address the addressee can email and be opted-out. This means you need to have a return channel handling setup to receive (and process) such emails.

You have a few choices:

    * Use the action.optOutUrl token, which will generate URLs (clickable http://… links) to use instead),
    * setup a return channel properly,
    * (from CiviCRM 2.2 on) setup a Gmail-based return channel with CiviMail Processor and a localpart, which will generate out-out addresses lie example+o.12.19.3bf83eaa6b903404@gmail.com – in this case, the emails will end up in the example@gmail.com mailbox.

This seems to be correct value. As Piotr said you can also use {action.optOutUrl} token

OK.  I guess all I can suggest is that the link looks scary...maybe it would be better if it could be made into something more estheticly pleasing..
