CiviMail vs Other Email Marketing Components for Joomla
April 30, 2009, 07:05:32 am
Hello,
I am evaluating Civi and its utility for integrating with Joomla.  Any thoughts out there on CiviMail vs Acajoom  vs other newletter or email marketing components?

What does CiviMail do better than the rest?  Where does it lack?

Many thanks,
Mike

Civimail is integrated to your CRM, you have better control than other Joomla Components and it provides you some interesting reports about who read your email and which links they used. I do believe the Civimail is top-notch... I have used other Newsletters components from Joomla and in my opinion Civimail is the way to go.

Hi,
I am currently making the same assessment - CiviMail vs Acajoom
I am impressed with CiviCRM and CiviMail but feel they are too complex for our simple needs - a charity classical choir.
But Acajoom is encrpyted even though there fee is not unreasonable.

WHat was your ourcome?

Thanks
John

We actually use both CiviMail and Acajoom Pro for different tasks.

CiviMails have to be composed by a human being.  We use it for "email blasts" to the entire membership on a special topic and to groups.

We use Acajoom Pro to produce a weekly email "smart-newsletter" that automatically compiles all posted stories in the last week and mails them to members.  Once it was set up, it runs via cron to automatically harvest and mail new content.
