Problem Importing Contacts with No Email Addresses
July 30, 2007, 01:10:56 pm
(Reposting Scott's personal message to the forum...)
Hi Dave,
I know I should use the Forum, but I didn't know where to add this in.  I just want to import Individuals "contacts" that don't have emails of their own... or they are using the email address of their company.  The import routine won't import contacts with either duplicate or no email addresses (my last import wouldn't import over 300 of the 500 contacts).  I removed email as a matching criteria in the backend, leaving only the first and last name.

Thanks.
Scott E.

Scott - You should be able to import Individual contact records with just First and Last Name - as long as you've modified the Contact Matching Rules to just match on First and Last Name.

Can you try replicating your problem on the 1.8 demo with a "desensitized" (names changed) import file.

If the problem recreates, please post a bug report on our issue tracker with details on how to recreate, and attach your test import file.
