CiviCRM Profiles within the Drupal user profile? bad idea?
May 05, 2009, 08:18:51 pm
So I'm using Drupal profiles to give users the ability to view and edit their profiles that are stored with CiviCRM (a couple different profiles setup for different types of info). Should I be directing them instead to their CiviCRM record or profile?

I seemed to get the hint over here...   http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php/topic,7316.0.html    that my initial way is a bad idea.

I'm having users sign in at domain.org/user   and it directs them to their drupal profile.   Should I instead just have them login, and it redirects them to the homepage... and if they want to edit their full contact profile, go to CiviCRM?

The reason I ask is that I'm having some trouble with CiviCRM profiles that are edited while users are on their Drupal account page. When their Mobile Phone field is updated through Drupal, it only saves the first digit entered. But when that field is updated through their record on CiviCRM, it collects the entire number.

Thanks in advance for the help & direction.

Our experience is that you need to let go of Drupal profiles and only use civicrm one.s
