I notice that I often get confused in the civiMail screens because mails seem to disappear and I realise this is because I usually start on the 'main' CiviMail screen which shows completed and scheduled but after an action I find myself on one of the filter versions - i.e. if I start to create an e-mail and then choose save and continue later I am returned to http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/mailing/browse/unscheduled?scheduled=false&reset=1 instead of the screen I started on.

If  I go back to this screen http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/mailing?reset=1 and delete my unfinished e-mail I am taken to http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/mailing/browse/scheduled?reset=1&scheduled=true.

I would suggest that if it is too difficult to return you to the screen you started on then the unfiltered view would be the best default as at least mails don't appear to have disappeared.
