Editing Contacts - where are Notes
May 07, 2009, 10:37:02 am
Hi - if you look at Site Preference > Editing Contacts you will see there is the option to select NOTES to be available when filling in a Contacts Summary edit form.
I even have a vague memory of seeing this once! But not visible in 2.0 or 2.2

Can someone clarify - should it be available as an option when using the Summary edit screen (a good move in my mind) or should the option be removed from the Site Preferences.

Is this a minor bug - can it be fixed so I can write that this IS an option in the booksprint? ;-) (no pressure of course)

So the current behavior is you could only add notes on the same screen while adding a contact (not edit). And adding more notes / editing existing ones, can be done from notes tab.

The reason note editing was removed from editing screen was - "allowing multiple notes to be added/edited", which i think was one of the reason for a separate notes tab.

We are open to thoughts on minor changes to make this less confusing for now.
And the UI team can think of restructuring it if needed for future releases.

Thanks Deepak - that explains why I knew I had seen it at some point.
