Import group and relationship assignments
May 12, 2009, 08:43:14 am
Hi, I want to import multiple sets of user records. I see where I can assign any given set to a group. But I am unable to determine how to assign the relationships also. For example if I import the employee records I would like to be able assign the relationship as employee of and the group the would be assign to as counselors or reps etc... Can both functions be done during the import process or do teh relationships have to be assigned individually? Thank you in help/advice would be appreciated.

If you are importing a file that contains the Contact and their Employer then the relationship can be created during import. Map your Organisation Name field to

--- Related Contact info --- (which is way down the bottom of the drop down Matching CiviCRM Field

then select

- Employee of

then in new box that opens up select

- Organisation Name

Does that help?
