using profile not allowing anonymous sign up for group

I created a profile then stand-alone form including a group for the user, including anonymous users, to sign up for a newsletter group.  It adds the user to contacts but does NOT add them tot he group.

Why and how can I fix it?  Thanks.

Can you try to replicate this on http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org ?

I fixed it using groups then edited it to just the groups I wanted expose to the public.  Thanks.  Consider this closed.
