File upload for images, from Profile

I'm looking to provide a logo-upload feature for site users, exposed in a Business Information profile.

I've set up custom file fields, and exposed them in the profile. I get the necessary form components to do an image upload, but when I do, the upload fails silently.

I've checked the Directory configuration, and ensured that permissions are properly configured for both temporary files and image files.
CiviMail doesn't have any trouble managing (and uploading) attachments.

I'm using latest Drupal and Civi.

How are you using profile ? In create mode ?
